Honda Urban EV Concept

We can’t talk about our favourite cars from the Frankfurt Motor Show without mentioning the quirky throwback to the 1970s Civic/Mini mix-up. This all-electric concept that’s set for production in 2019 comes with a dedicated EV platform and power manager that not only keeps the car charged, but will also charge your home when needed and sell electricity back to grid at peak times.

The outside of the Honda includes a front and back display that shows the current charging percentage and rates, the front badge also displays information greetings and advice for other drivers on the road with a backlit blue Honda badge that will be used in all their EVs going forward.

The Urban EV interior is set out to create maximum visibility and space for drivers by utilising slim A-pillars allowing for a wide windscreen, with entry and exit being provided by rear-hinged coach doors. The dashboard has been replaced with a "floating dashboard" that includes a wrap-around panoramic screen that stretches round to the doors and acts as the car's wing mirrors through exterior digital cameras.

The striking new Audi RS4 Avant comes with a 2.9-litre V6 petrol engine that delivers the same power output as the 4.2-litre V8 in the third-generation RS4 Avant but provides significantly more torque 125lb. This creates 443bhp with a 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 155mph that can be pushed out to 174mph with the RS4’s optional ‘RS’ dynamic pack. It’s also more eco and purse friendly with Co2 and emission claims of 32.1mpg and 199g/km, which is significantly better than the old model at 26.4mpg and 249g/km.

The RS4 utilises a spiced-up version of the primary bodywork found in the A4 Avant. The wheel arches are stretched out by 30mm, giving the RS4 a wider stance. At the front, Audi have added air vents to suck cooling air into the engine and brakes, and have included a roof spoiler and huge oval exhausts at the back.

This futurist Kia concept takes the form of a Shooting Brake-style Estate. Kia describes the Procee'd as an “extended hatch” with dramatic styling. The low, coupe style sweeping rear end is coupled with a single modern light bar running right to left, with the front end taking some cues from the Kia Stinger with the "Tigernose" grill and sharp bumper intakes. The Proceed concept is further enhanced by a dramatic window frame that follows the roofline towards the back, removing the B-pillars.

There is a brand-new design to the interior, bringing together a range of modern style cues and an innovative dashboard colour coded to the exterior. The rest of the interior is filled with four split-back seats which are covered by over 100 meters of rippled black fabric, cut and tailored by hand with the centre console including a thin and long screen tilted towards the driver.

BMW M5 "First Edition"

BMW M5 "First Edition" is a special edition M5’s that will be sold worldwide in Spring 2018 with only 400 cars being produced. Finished with a special Frozen Dark Red Metallic paintwork coupled with high-gloss shadow-line trim, the matt red colour gives the M5 an extra aggressive look that makes it stand out from the crowd. The inside trim will include a Piano Black finish with available Smoke White interior upholstery with contrasting red stitching.

The M5 comes with a revised 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 that produces 592bhp and 553ld-ft of torque. This is a significant increase on the current model and will produce an electronically limited top speed of 155mph that can be increased to 189mph with the optional M Driver’s Package. The lubrication, cooling system and turbocharges have all been updated with a notable change from the current M DCT twin-clutch solution to a torque converter automatic gearbox. BMW claims there is no loss of performance, with everyday driving being improved.

VW's first all-electric SUV, the I.D. Crozz II, will launch in 2020. This funky crossover coupe will come with two electric motors fed by a 83-kW battery pack. This will produce 201hp at the rear motor as the primary drive source with a 101hp front unit providing supplementary power, giving the  I.D. Crozz II a range of 311miles (Based on the European Standard).

The I.D. Crozz II will come with a striking LED headlight that stretches across the front which when combined with 21-inch alloy wheels and modified side and rear panels will give the I.D. Crozz a distinctive look.

There is more tech than you could ever need in the I.D. Crozz II. Voice control functions will allow owners to wake up their car, open and close doors, as well activate the I.D. autonomous driving mode. E-Mirrors replace standard mirrors and allow drivers to combine images from the side and rear-facing cameras to generate a display of the surroundings onto an internal screen. The door panels feature a semi-transparent control island that allows all passengers access to open and close the windows and doors, as well as allowing regulation of the heating and cooling of their specific zone. The driver infotainment display is a 10.2-inch tablet that sits ahead of the dash with an extra 5.8 inch unit being included in the steering wheel as an Active Info Display. The Active Info Display can be used to display important vehicle information, a 3D navigation map and access your music library.
